Junin de Los Andes - February/March 2010    The small village of Junin de los Andes At 9.15 a.m. our departure from Bariloche to San Martin de los Andes. Very rainy day. We got San Martin de Los Andes at 1.00 p.m. and we bought the bus ticket for Junin de Los Andes (company: Castelli). There are several buses so we decided to have a lunch before going to Junin. The girl of the bus ticket office (Castelli) gave the "great" advice to go to eat in a place called "Listino Cafe"...well....FORGET IT!!!...Terrible food and over priced!!! We felt sick during all the trip to Junin. At 6.00 p.m. departure from San Martin de los Andes. At 4.40 p.m. we got Junin de los Andes. 1.3 km away the bus terminal we got "Ami Hostel". Very basic but cheap and anyway the owners are nice. 30 pesos per bed in a 8 beds dorm but we were just in 3 persons. Internet cost 3 pesos per hour.    Ami Hostel  Then we had a tour of the village. Junin de los andes is very small and really rural. it's nice and people are friendly. Pity that the bus services are really bad organized. It's the closest village to the Park of Lanin but all the tours are organized from San Martin de Los Andes!...so...to get the Park of Lanin we had to wait tne bus from San Martin anyway. The only bus company is Castelli! There are only to buses to get 2 different entrances of the park and anyway if you want to climb to the refuge...you should take the bus that get there at noon but the entrance is open till 11 a.m.!!!!! No comment for that!!...For this reason we decided to have a smaller trekking to the base of the Volcano Lanin. We had the dinner at la "Casa del Amigo". The Trucha is fantastic but the asado as well is very good. Just in front of the tourist office.    February 19 - Wake up at 7.00 a.m. At 9.00 deprarture for the park of Lanin..    The Trucha at "La Casa del Amigo" Restaurant   The Trucha is the Fish of Junin...you can see it even in the street indications February 20 - Wake up at 8.30 a.m. then visit to the "Via Cristi"....really interesting and beautiful. It's a kind of "Via Crucis" but in the "Indian Way" It's an artistic mix (with a lot of very beautiful sculptures) between the Catholic religion and the Mapuche (The indians of the Andes) religions with a large use of the allegory and metaphor.
